Welcome to Adulthood



Welcome to Adulthood is proud to announce its first official call for submissions of posts inspired by the theme, Inhabit occupy; settle (in/on), people, populate, colonize; dwell in/on, reside in/on, tenant, lodge in/on, have one’s home in/on; formal be domiciled in/on, abide in/on.

Submissions can be about anything regarding your reaction or interpretation of the theme Inhabit and how it relates to adulthood. We want to hear about where you live, who you live with, when you moved out of your parents’ house and whether or not you ever moved back, what is the most important thing a first time home buyer should know, what your neighborhood is like, what values/themes/issues you see in the topic of Inhabit, etc.

Guidelines: Submissions should be between 250-1,000 words and submitted by 12:00 a.m. PST, June 1, 2011 for consideration in our Summer cycle. Submissions may be submitted in any written format including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Please include your email address and website (if applicable) at the bottom of your submission (this email address will not be made public). Artwork or accompanying photography is not mandatory, but any you choose to include must be your own work or via creative commons.

We will read and respond to your submission within 5 business days. Submissions that are chosen will be posted on Welcome to Adulthood, with author and website/blog recognition (if applicable), and winners will also be included in our monthly e-newsletter along with the other posts from the month. Submissions must be original works and may not have appeared in any other publications or media, including blogs.
