This blog is dedicated to celebrating and commiserating adulthood. Here you will find both practical advice and meaningful discourse on being an adult.
Adulthood is more than a word, or a cliché. Here, we will reclaim Adulthood as a movement and an exploration. Welcome.
About The Editor:
Mara Stringfield has always been a communicator: when she was in 6th grade she began working at a national children’s radio station called “Radio Aahs.” Mara co-hosted a national weekly radio show called “Disneyland Live,” broadcasting live from Disneyland on Main Street U.S.A. Every week on her show, she interviewed celebrity guests, reviewed new Disney attractions, spoke to park visitors, took on-air callers, hosted contests, played music, and laughed a lot.
As an adult, Mara began looking for new ways to communicate and connect. She conceived and founded Welcome to Adulthood in June 2009 as a way to build a community that comes together explore and experience adulthood in all of its many facets.
Mara lives in San Diego. She is currently pursuing a M.A. in Rhetoric and Writing at San Diego State University. She works full-time as a grant writer at San Diego Center for Children, an organization that she is very passionate about that provides therapeutic residential and social support services to children with severe emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
